Waterston Dental Care—How and why are we different?
Every Wallingford dentist makes decisions. Should I try to be the cheapest and be the dentist for everyone and every insurance plan? Should I try to offer the best service and skills and set my practice apart from others; to make it unique in some way?
I’ve decided to make my practice unique. Let’s face it; I flunked professional detachment in dental school, and I care deeply that my patients are doing well. I also absolutely HATE to give bad news to people I like, and I like my patients.
How has this shaped my practice? How do my decisions benefit you?
First and foremost, the center of my practice is our preventive dentistry program. Every new patient receives priceless information on how to correct probems and prevent many problems from ever happening in the first place. This information alone, always given at no charge, can save you thousands over time. Many dentists practice “point and shoot” dentistry; you point out a problem, and the dentist treats that problem. I practice a philosophy of thorough, comprehensive, planned care in an effort to improve your overall health while preventing dental problems (the link between gum disease and heart disease is ten times stronger than the link between high cholesterol and heart disease).
Second, we welcome phobics at Waterston Dental Care, the Wallingford dentist. My staff and I are uniquely gentle, and we use some gentleness techniques other dentists haven’t even heard of. I’m also trained to perform IV conscious sedation; very few general dentists are trained to do this. If you can’t face up to dental treatment, IV sedation can change your life. The medication puts you in a relaxed state; you don’t care, you don’t feel, and afterwards, you don’t remember (think of the medication as “Milk of Amnesia”).
“We live for your comfort©” is not just a slogan. We live it every day.
My passion for knowledge burns more brightly than ever after 38 years in practice. I’ve spent over a calendar year of my life in continuing education. I have great mentors in the most important areas of dentistry, and my skills are reflected in the very high success rates of the treatment I provide. The average crown in the U.S. lasts five years, according to insurance company statistics. The crowns I place last an average of two to four times as long.
Our fees at Waterston Dental Care are not the lowest in the area, but—I promise you—you will get more than you pay for at every visit to our office. In the long run, value trumps low initial price every time.
My staff and I look forward to meeting you.
